Specialist areas of interest:
I am keen advocate of CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting and general strength training with a sprinkling of gymnastics in there as well.
A little background:
My passion for health and fitness came from playing rugby league. From the age of 16/17 I moved down to London to pursue a career playing for london broncos and other teams around the city. I was trained by the first teams S&C coaches and that sparked an interest. I quit my job and went straight into being self employed…with no clients (smart move I know) but it soon picked up after helping my best mate set up his first functional gym in Bedfordshire.
I stayed there for quite a few years before having an epiphany in lockdown to move to York and start working for a Crossfit gym where my passion for functional training evolved even more.
How I enjoy training personally:
My training is heavily influenced by CrossFit, I love the all the different elements that’s involved. There is always new ways to push boundaries and explores movements.
My role at True:
My role at True is hybrid, split between managing the Wetherby site and coaching on the gym floor.
Specialist areas of interest:
Muscle gain, fat loss, resistance and strength training
A little background:
I qualified as a personal trainer in 2019, swapping the tax sheets for a set of dumbbells after originally working in accounting and finance.
“You can create a lot of meaning in your own life by helping someone else do something that is meaningful for them”
The above quote sums up why I decided to make the career change.
Since then, I have not looked back, and still share the same passion as when I first entered this industry in helping people train effectively and have fun whilst doing it!
How I enjoy training personally:
A 1-hour date with the Airdyne. Joking, I’m not crazy, resistance training is my jam!
My role at True:
I am very excited to help both our Wetherby and Guiseley members reach their health and fitness goals, as well as helping our Personal Training Team continue to deliver awesome sessions and develop as coaches. I shall see you all on the gym floor!
Specialist areas of interest:
High intensity training, functional fitness and OCR training.
A little background:
I qualified as a personal trainer in April 2020. I love every aspect of fitness; the endorphins, the sweat and the strength I feel. Since qualifying I found that I really enjoyed kettlebell training, therefore I took part in a Kettlercise course with which is strength training mixed with cardio which I love. I am a big fan of taking part in sporting events from obstacle course races to sprint triathlons. As you can probably tell I am a very active person!
How I enjoy training personally:
I have always loved cardio and high intensity workouts with some weight training although I recently joined a CrossFit gym in which I am loving and feel that this is now my favourite way of training as it brings so much power and strength which is really beneficial for me for my sports events, rugby training and games.
My role at True:
My role is to coach our members at True to reach their full potential and to pass on knowledge that will help our members to develop with each workout they take on. My personal message to all members is “Let yourself be open to different ways of training, you never know what you will learn to love and what your body is capable of”.

There is nothing more that I love than to make members work hard and to feel strong and sweaty. I love seeing members progression and the happiness it brings for them.

A little background:
I spent four years as a professional footballer and during this time I developed a passion and love for fitness and training. When I left professional football, I began studying Sport and Fitness with the Open University and then qualified as a Personal trainer in November 2020.
How I enjoy training personally:
I enjoy a mixture of strength and hypertrophy training to aid my performance on the football pitch. I also enjoy long outdoor runs in the off season

Specialist areas of interest:
Strength Training, High Intensity Training, Sports Specific & Injury Rehab
A little background:
Growing up always being involved in exercise from skiing to swimming to netball, sport has always been a big part of my life to eventually ski instructing which led to some pretty unforgiving injuries! So I decided to hang the ski boots up and take an ‘off the snow’ approach to helping people achieve their goals and enjoy the process it takes to get there!
How I enjoy training personally:
I love everything from barbells to burpees and boxing! I love to try new exercises and feel the benefits of getting stronger with strength training in different ways, but I can’t deny that I love a sweaty cardio session to get rid of any stress!
My role at True:
My role at True is to guide our members to see the benefits that stepping into a gym can bring you from all the physical changes to the mental ones and becoming part of a big community – whilst helping you achieve your goals and continuously progress through 1-1 and shared PT. General Fitness, Women’s Health, Strength and HIIT Training
A little background:
I was once a competitive swimmer, brought up by fitness fanatic parents. Leading me to be inspired by sport and exercise from an early age. It has always been my passion, resulting in me studying Sport and Exercise Science at College and through to University. After hanging up my swimming cossie I continued my love for the sport in teaching Adults and Children how to swim, becoming a Level 2 Swimming Teacher.
How I enjoy training personally:
I like to vary my exercise to keep it interesting. I love to run and strength train, but I also really enjoy group fitness classes and swimming when I can. To help me stay focused, I always set myself a challenge to achieve within the year, whether it is entering events or setting goals in the gym. It keeps me motivated and moving.
My role at True:
My role will be to coach you through your sessions and ensure you are pushing yourself to the max. The hardest thing is showing up, but you’ll always leave feeling better than when you arrived.
